[So over Valentines' week, something pretty startling and incredible happened at the Holders' house. And on the 19th, something equally startling had happened - and seeing as news travels fast between Pokemon, Mewtwo hears about it before long.
A few days of serious thought lead him to make this post.]
There are four new Pokemon in Luceti, and four new humans which have been selected by these Pokemon's parents as suitable trainers. It may be that, during their lives, they will know only this world - a world which their species and kind are not native to, which may disrupt their instincts, and which does not know the combined traditions of Pokemon and trainers.
I, Mewtwo, am the most powerful of the Pokemon in Luceti. With the right of that power, I speak as a guardian for us. These four hatchlings will not be raised or treated contrary to their nature, and if any of their keepers is to be their trainer, then they must know what would be expected of them.
A trainer's duty to the Pokemon is to assist in their growth. They are not tools to be used, however kindly. A partnership benefits both Pokemon and trainer, or else it is useless.
Battles alongside Pokemon are to be fought with a sincere heart. Without honesty of intentions, greatest strength cannot be reached by partners, and that is an insult to the bond between trainer and Pokemon.
A trainer and their Pokemon are to trust one another.
And whether a human is trainer, companion, or stranger to a Pokemon, they will not abuse it, or unfairly control it, or force it into a plan of foul intention, or harm it maliciously. With every power I command, I will enforce this rule.
[It's a little kinder than "with fangs and claws we will exact a toll", but still pretty solid, Mewtwo hopes. Questions - from the lucky addressees or otherwise - are fine, if the message isn't too intimidating to reply to....]
